Say What?!

I always forget to write down the cute stuff that Halle says. Here's some funny ones from this week:
"Mom, princesses don't wear pants."
"Oh, crap!"
"This looks perfect."
While praying: "Bless us to have a good Christmas"
(Yes, it is February. Halle doesn't care)

The thumb-sucking blue polka dot dress

Zach started sucking his thumb. At about the same time he also started sleeping through the night. I think the thumb has something to do with it. It's really cute to see his fat fingers find their way to his mouth. He also loves to suck my hand, thumb, arm, or anything else he can get ahold of. He has been a really good baby and a lot happier since we've changed his reflux medication.

Halle is obsessed with this blue polka dot dress. It used to be her cousin Chloe's dress and I think that could be one of the reasons she will never take it off. I've come into her room several times at night and she's taken off her jammies and fallen asleep in this dress. Every time I tell her it's time to get dressed she says she wants to wear this dress. It now has marker all over it and I have washed it and stain treated it twice. I even put it into the D.I. pile and she found it and wouldn't let me take it away.

December to Remember

We have had a really busy month. We blessed Zach on December 6th. My parents came from Ohio for the blessing- which was wonderful. All of Willis' family came as well along with some close friends. We really appreciated everyone that came. Here we are in front of the church. It was so cold outside that I couldn't bear to take Zach out of his carseat.
Here I am with Zach. This was taken a month ago now, and he already looks so much older.

The night of his blessing we got some really cute pictures of him smiling. He is such a smiley kid. It's so cute to see him grin ear to ear. This was the first night he smiled like that and he hasn't stopped since. We spent Christmas in Ohio with my family. It snowed the first week we were there and Halle went sledding and built a snowman with Aunt Morgan. Anyone who sees actual snow on a regular basis would have laughed at us playing in the light dusting that we got. But Halle was thrilled because she never sees it.

Willis came the second week we were in Ohio. This is us on Christmas Eve. I have so many other pictures from the trip, but I will have to post them later. We had a great time. I am having post-vacation sadness.

This picture makes me laugh. I loved how Zach looks in his socks and white onezie. (Is that how you spell it? Does anyone really know how to spell that word?). His thighs are so dang fat. I love them.

Update?

Okay, I am a lame blogger- especially now that I have 2 kids. What's even lamer is that I don't have any pictures for this post because my computer is a dinosaur. I am hoping that Santa brings me a new computer this year. We have been busy all of December. My parents came to town for Zach's blessing and it was lovely. I was so happy that they could come. We're heading to Ohio for Christmas tomorrow, and we'll be gone for 2 weeks, but hopefully I will be able to post some pics sometime soon.

Halloween Pics

We took Halle to one of those roadside "pumpkin patches" and it was surprisingly fun. As long as you don't buy the pumpkins ($15 each) it's not too expensive either. This year Halle was Mulan. She's been waiting since August to wear her costume. She loves all things Mulan. Halle and the girl cousins.

Zachary Willis Nielson

We're excited to finally meet Zach. He came Thursday, October 8th at 2:59 p.m. He weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and was 21 inches long. He looks like a carbon copy of Halle with more hair.
We are thrilled to have him in our lives.

Willis goes under the knife

Willis had knee surgery on Tuesday. We were thinking it would be a quick fix to a torn meniscus. (Well, that's what Willis said). Turns out he also had a load of cartilage damage in there as well. (If you know Willis, this should not surprise you). So now he is in a brace for 6 weeks. He's actually hobbling around a lot better after some physical therapy and a couple days of rest. Here are some unflattering pictures for you to look at:
(And you thought you looked bad in a hopsital gown :-)They actually have you write "yes" and "no" on your knees so they don't accidentally operate on the wrong one.
